Supporting Break Through

There are different ways your organisation can support the work of Break Through, be it through sponsorship provision of mentors, perhaps promotion of the program via your business or you may wish to make a fully tax deductible donation.

Break Through is a partnership between the Live N Learn Foundation, Camden, Campbelltown and Liverpool City Councils and TAFE NSW - South Western Sydney Institute. The project is supported by funding from the Australian Government under its Community Investment Program.

The idea stems from an initiative of a Employment and Learning Task Force involving the program partners, together with Bankstown-Liverpool-Fairfield Business Enterprise Centre, South Western Sydney Area Health Service, GROW, the Premier’s Department, Centrelink and the Liverpool Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC).

Sponsorship and Donations

Your organisation may not be able to provide mentors, but you want to recognise this valuable local program by making a fully tax deductible financial contribution. This can be done in a number of ways including a one off corporate contribution, incremental staff activates or as part of a broader corporate responsibility strategy initiated by your organisation.

Providing Mentors

Break Through is currently looking for business leaders and/or their employees who through their organisations can work with young people over time and build a trusting relationship with the person that they are mentoring.

The participation of business will be a major success factor to Break Through. It will also ensure that people with contemporary knowledge of employment conditions and workforce practices mentor young people.

We are asking business to:

  • Understand and confirm its support to the Break Through mentoring concept;
  • Promote the program to potential mentors in your workforce;
  • Support a (limited) number of your employees within the program – by recognising time mentoring as work time; and
  • Participate in evaluations of Break Through (from time-to-time).

For more information contact the Program Coordinator.
